The Local Community in Lyec Constituency, Atiak Sub-county in Amuru District in Northern Uganda have resolved through their Chief that no Government Official should dare Cross their village to evict any Female Balalo.

By Press Time they were writing to Odong Stephen Latek, the Amuru Resident District Commissioner that the community is okay with Female Balalos even rearing animals in unfenced homesteads provided the animals are not more than three as the youth of the village have volunteered to ensure they are safe with their animals.

The Community Members led by their Area LC1, Odong Marino said the Presidential directive has been very clear on evicting Balalo who have not complied with the issues of fencing and provision of water to the livestock which has never been the work of the female Balalos.

“We need this to reach the President that we are very comfortable with the female balalos because they are very peaceful and don’t move around with firearms unlike the male ones, hence we request the President to stand with us on this “.Odong Marino told the Elephant Parody page.

When the Elephant Contacted Amuru Resident District Commissioner, Odong Stephen Latek, he said he was on his way to Kitgum to attend the wedding of Oguti Orswin Sabastian the deputy RDC of Lamwo, and would get back with details since his team had gone to the village to find out this revelation

“Whatever the matter, the Presidential directive stands, we shall evict anybody whether male or female provided the person has not complied with the Presidential Directive. That madness my team will investigate and let you know”. Latek sounded firm on the Phone.
