Hon. Aber Lilian the Kitgum Woman Member of Parliament and the Vice-Chairperson Northern Uganda for Gen.Muhoozi Kainerugaba Movement termed as the MK Movement together with Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, the Vice Chairperson of the Movement for Western Uganda including Frank Gashumba, the Vice-Chairperson for the Movement for Central Uganda all camped in Adjumani District on January 31st,2024.
The Team was on the ground to mobilize and create the Madi-Sub Region Chapter of the MK Movement.
The event that took place from Pakele Playground in Adjumani District saw Gen.Moses Ali the Second Deputy Prime Minister grace the occasion to endorse the MK Movement in the Madi Sub-region.
A multitude of people poured at Pakele to witness the event that shaped the grassroots mobilization of putting structure in the sub-region.
Hon.Aber Lilian, The Vice- Chairperson of Northern Uganda MK Movement told the Elephant News in an interview that the MK Movement is never a rival of President Yoweri Museveni Kaguta or the National Resistance Movement as many people would want to create it but is a group of people who have leadership ideological uprightness under the leadership of Gen.Kainerugaba Muhoozi to provide alternative leadership when the time is ripe.
“For now, we are only focusing on strengthening the MK Movement grassroots structure and that is what matters”. Hon.Aber said.
According to Hon. Aber the MK Movement is willing to work with anybody who believes in its structure and they were humbled to see Chiefs and Religious leaders attend in large numbers.
She added that the people of Madi People especially in Adjumani want a Municipality and need for electricity and Bridges which they would compile and give Gen. Muhoozi the same way, in Kitgum the issues of Cattle Rustling were given to MK and he acted by sending in specialized soldiers to handle the matter including giving cattle to some people who had just lost them to the Cattle raid in the area.
The Principal of the MK Movement who could not attend the launch due to his busy schedule went on his X account and thanked Gen. Moses Ali for being with his team and ensuring success.
“ I thank our senior elder Right Honourable General Moses Ali for being the guest of honour at the launching of the MK Movement in Madi sub-region. The MK Movement is the link between the young, dynamic people in Uganda and their elders”.Said Gen.Muhoozi.
