President Yoweri Museveni Kaguta on July 31st,2024 met with 100 ghetto youth leaders from 12 SACCOs across the Kampala Metropolitan Area at State House Entebbe. The President handed over Shs1.2 billion to the ghetto SACCOs (Shs100 million each) fulfilling a pledge he made during a meeting at Kololo Independence Grounds last year.
The president told the young people that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Government is committed to working for all Ugandans while emphasizing politics of interest and enduring prosperity for all.
Jane Barekye, the State House controller who was part of the meeting revealed on her X social media page that the beneficiaries of the SACCOs are from; Rubaga Kakeeka Zone dwellers, Kasangati Ghetto Community, Kampala Central Division, Nakawa Division, Makindye East, Kawempe South, Makindye west, Kawempe North, Mukono industrial, Kasokoso, Nansana division and Masajja Para Zone ghetto in Makindye.
